About Anthony Davey
Anthony is a long time photographer who works out of Tasmania (the little island at the bottom of Australia and home to the endangered Tasmanian Devil),
The best way to express his home state for the world stage is to call it the Scotland of the southern hemisphere, Tasmanians' enjoy the freshest vegetables, fish, meat, whisky, etc, it is well known for it's striking natural beauty and untouched wilderness, rugged mountain ranges, pristine beaches and coastal fishing communities, it is a bush walkers paradise, eco tourism is popping up everywhere, the inhabited landscape is dotted with fine 1800's sandstone buildings which is itself a postcard of its' dark savage colonial past.
Many fine photographers live here and along with a vibrant arts scene (thanks to MONA *) it's a wonderfully idyllic place to live and work.
Anthony looks for peace and harmony in his imagery, along with colour, subtly and nuance.
Since Anthony made the big leap from film and darkrooms to the digital world, he has become even more of a quality nut with resolution being paramount and uses the Nikon D800 along with 11 prime lenses.
Most of Anthony's imagery is from the nature and landscape genre, but he has many influences that will occasionally surprise you with his style and technique.
Have confidence in buying from this site, these guys rock.
* MONA is Museum Old and New Art, is a privately funded Darling come Enfante Terrible of the Worlds arts community here in Hobart, Tasmania.
